The UK Open International Championships will now be staged in London on Thursday and Friday August 26/27 sponsored by MWB Business Exchange -  known for their memorable meeting venues, and serviced offices throughout the UK.  The venue for the competition will be MWB Paddington, One Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, London W2 6BD.

 

Currently there are competitors registered to take part from thirteen countires including the Philippines, Turkey, Poland, Slovenia, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, Germandy and the USA.  The reigning World Champion Ben Pridmore and past World Champion Andi Bell;, both from the UK will also be taking part.  The competition will be to International Standards over two days and arbited by the WMSC Chief Arbiter, Phil Chambers.

The Second Indian National Memory Championship 2010

The  Second Indian National Memory Championship - 2010 will be held on 31 October 2010 (Sunday) in Hyderabad at Hotel Fortune Select Manohar (one of the best Five Star Hotels of Hyderabad), Near Old Airport, Begumpet, Hyderabad - 500016 (AP), India.

Indian Memory Championship - 2010 is a single day  event consisting of ten standard events as prescribed by WMSC. The contestants are to take part in all the ten events to qualify for the Championship award.

The Championship is being organized by Squadron Leader Jayasimha, a Quadruple Guinness World Record Holder, Chairman - National Memory Council of India. Squadron Leader Jayasimha had successfully organized the First Indian Memory Championship - 2009 with a record participation of 1500 competitors last year. Sri SVK Reddy (Chairman VR1 Forever), Dr Kranthi (Vice Chairman NMCI) and John Louis (The First Indian Memory Grand Master) are extending their support to make this Second Memory Championship event a successful one.

It is heartening to note that Phil Chambers, Chief arbiter WMSC has kindly consented to grace the Indian championship and officiate it too. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh / The Education Minister and many more prominent Indian Personalities are going to be the guests of honor on 31 October 2010.

The maximum number of Competitors is expected to be 100 to 150. The competitors of this Indian Memory Championship would be awarded World Memory Rankings as it will be held on the Standard National Championship guidelines. It will also be a good platform for the Indian participants to prepare themselves for the WMC to be held in China from 01 to 06 December 2010.

The registrations are opened wef 20 July 2010. Registration is on first come - first serve basis. The Registration fee for the championship participation is Rs 2500/-. Information on the Swedish Memory Open Championships 25th – 26th September 

The Swedish Memory Sports Council can proudly announce that the Swedish Memory Championships 2010, SMO - 2010, will be a part of the book fair – Bokmässan 2010 The book fair is Sweden's official and largest with 100.000 visitors and a lot of international celebrities including numerous Nobel prise winners and famous authors.

 

Note that due to lack of space there will only be room for 20 international competitors. In discussion with the World Memory Sports Council we have decided that the 20 first registered international competitors will be given place to participate. The Swedish attenders are registered separately.

 

International guests are welcomed to arrive from Wednesday 22nd of August. There will be activities on Thursday and Friday prior to the competition. More information will be forwarded to the registered competitors directly.

 

There will be prizes for best international in extend of that the winner of the SMO 2010 will be given a free trip to defend their title the following year.

 

Last date to register is 20th of August and registration fee is 50 Euro (30 Euro for students and juniors). When registering you will get information on how to pay.
