The Arabian Memory Championship for Universities

The Arabian Memory Championship for Universities was held in its first edition online on Monday, December 27 of the year 2021, and thus is the first Arabian Memory Championship for universities organized by the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation, and the events of the championship were online through the official website of the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation.

      The championship was held under the supervision of Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha, founder of the Arabian Memory Championship and the representative of the World Memory Championship in the Arab world and Africa, and in the presence of the international Arbiter, Mr. Ahmed Lamine Chala, who gave the starting signal for the championship through the website.

      This championship was organized by the “Arabian Memory Championship Foundation” represented by Dr. Riadh Bensaousha, Director of the Foundation, and the championship was run from inside the Foundation’s headquarters.

       9 Arbiters participated in the championship, including 4 international Arbiters accredited from the WMSC (Riadh Bensaoucha – third-degree international Arbiter, Ahmed Lamine Chala – third-degree international Arbiter, Oum El-Khair Ben Naoui – second-degree Arbiter, Kamel Lerari – second-degree Arbiter), after their participation in the online arbitration training program, which was presented to them by the international Arbiter, Ahmed Lamine Chala, on December 24, through a training course provided online. In addition to the Arbiters, there was a team of technicians and administrators who contributed to the success of the championship.

      10 competitors (4 females 6 males) participated in this online championship, 7 from Algeria and 3 from Yemen.

The results of the events were as follows:

Second place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria).

Third place: Mohamed Boudweilah (The American University in Cairo – Yemen).

2- Speed Numbers Event:

First place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Second place: Hammou Abismail (University of Pole Ghardaia – Algeria).

Third place: Mohamed Boudweilah (The American University in Cairo – Yemen).

3- Random word Event:

First place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Second place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria).

Third place: Abdullah Omar Belhaoul (Sakarya Turkey University – Yemen).

4- Random dates Event:

First place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Second place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria).

Third place: Mohamed Boudweilah (The American University in Cairo – Yemen).

5- Arabic Poetry Event:

First place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Second place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria).

Third place: Lina Soundous Fartas (Higher School of Teachers Skikda – Algeria).

6- Foreign languages Event:

First place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Second place: Asma Kenouche (Paramedical Institute, Constantine – Algeria).

Third place: Hammou Abismail (University of Pole Ghardaia – Algeria).

7- Mathematical Equations Event:

First place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria).

Second place: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria).

Third place: Hammou Abismail (University of Pole Ghardaia – Algeria).

The first three ranks were as follows:

The Arab World Champion in Memory for Universities for the year 2021: Slimane Bekouche (Amir Abdelkader University – Algeria), with a total of 4627 points.

Second place: Ferdaous Baameur (University of Algiers 2 – Algeria), with a total of 2728 points.

Third place: Hammou Abismail (University of Pole Ghardaia – Algeria), with a total of 2144 points.

      The results were announced on the evening of January 16th, 2022, through a ceremony held in a virtual hall via Zoom, with a live broadcast of the ceremony on the social media pages.the ceremony was Animated by Dr. Abdel Ghani Khacha, and the ceremony included 13 videos that were shown during the ceremony, and the titles of the videos were as follows:

1- Distribution of certificates to the competitors.

2- Distribution of medals to the winners.

3- Distribution of certificates to Arbiters.

4- Speech of the head of the Arbiters.

5- The team supervising the running of the championship online.

6- Honoring the most active Arab memory trainer for Students.

7- Distribution of certificates of Arab records in memory for universities.

8- Distribution of financial prizes to the winners.

9- Summary of the Arab Memory Championship for Universities.

10- Distribution of trophies to the winners of the Universities Memory Championship.

11- The Arabian World Champion’s Cup in memory to the universities.

12- A meeting with the champion of the Arabian memory of universities.

13- Speech of the founder of the Arabian Memory Championship.

      After the conclusion of the online championship ceremony, an e-mail was sent to all participants containing certificates of participation, certificates of first ranks, and certificates of new Arab records, and coordination was made with them in order to send medals and cups and transfer financial prizes.

      One of the beautiful things about this championship is that the memory championship events have been developed into online form that completely simulates the experience of paper events, and the site has successfully passed all patch accuracy tests even with very special cases.

      Also, one of the nice things about this championship is that the competitors during the championship could see their results achieved in the events and their eligibility for medals in each break during the championship, and upon the end of the championship, they could see their answers in all the events to see where their mistakes were in the answer, and the championship statistics were published live after the Championship for the high transparency of this championship.
